Snape sat in bed and bagged scrambled eggs with a fork.

He smashed plate to the wall.

Worthless piece of filth.

Guilt for the death of Dumbledore chased him, haunted him. Shattered him into pieces, glued and shattered again.

Murderer.

"Sir, what's wrong with you? Do you think I am very happy to clean everything what remains after your hysteria attacks?"

"Don't clean then, I don't ask you to do it. I don't need your food, your 'care', anything. Just leave me alone." He grunted. "LEAVE ME! GO AWAY!" He started to scream.

Split He was close. Exasperatingly so. How could he have forgotten?

For some time the only sound had been the dull thunk of his heavy-booted steps on sodden undergrowth. The beat of his progress becoming fainter and more a-rythmic as he grew less sure of his path.  In a more rational moment he would have admitted the likelihood of finding it was slim. One spot chanced upon all those years ago (not so many years ago, it just felt like a lifetime. Well, it had been a lifetime for some) and instantly forgotten. How could he have forgotten? It felt like abandonment, dereliction of duty.
